How stock moves
Quantity on hand changes as documents move through the sales and purchasing cycle — an invoice or delivery challan reduces stock, a goods receipt or purchase bill increases it — and every movement is traceable back to the document that caused it. Manual corrections go through Stock Adjustments, and a full physical count goes through Inventory Audit.
Getting started
- Set up item categories and, if you sell variants, item groups.
- Add your items under Items, with pricing, tax and reorder points.
- If you need traceability, enable batch or serial tracking per item.
- Run your first Inventory Audit once stock has been trading for a while, to confirm the system quantity matches reality.
Tips
- Set a reorder point on items you don't want to run out of — low-stock items surface in the Stock Summary report.
- Bulk actions (status, tags, category, reorder point) save time when updating a large catalogue at once.
