Accounting
YSUITE runs a full double-entry accounting engine underneath every sales and purchase document, plus the tools to work with it directly when you need to.
Requires the MoneyPro module.
What's in Accounting
| Area | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Chart of Accounts | Your account tree, and drilling from any document into its journal entries |
| Manual Journals | Draft, post and reverse double-entry journal entries directly |
| Cash & Bank Accounts | Bank/cash registers, transfers between accounts, and owner contributions/drawings |
| Bank Reconciliation | AI-assisted matching of a bank statement against your books |
| Reporting Tags | Tag transactions by branch, cost centre or any dimension, and report P&L by tag |
| Taxes & Currency | Tax rates and groups, payment terms, and multi-currency documents |
Where journals come from
Every invoice, bill, payment, credit note and transfer posts its own journal entry automatically — you don't need to enter routine transactions twice. Manual Journals exist for entries that don't come from a document: accruals, corrections, and opening balances.
Getting started
- Initialise your Chart of Accounts — a one-click default chart gets most organisations started.
- Add your Cash & Bank Accounts.
- Set your applicable tax rates.
- Everything else — invoices, bills, payments — posts to the ledger as you use the rest of YSUITE.
Tips
- Drill down from any account, or from any invoice or bill, straight into the underlying journal entries — you don't need to search the journal separately.
- If you carry balances in more than one currency, see Taxes & Currency before raising documents.
