Reporting Tags
Reporting Tags add an analytic dimension on top of your chart of accounts — tag transactions by branch, cost centre, campaign, or anything else your business tracks, then report profit and loss by that tag.
Requires the MoneyPro module.
Defining a dimension
- Go to Settings → Accounting → Reporting Tags.
- Click + New Tag Dimension and name it — e.g. Branch, Cost Centre, Region.
- Choose which modules the dimension applies to — a dimension can be scoped to only the parts of the business where it's meaningful.
- Set the order dimensions appear in on transaction forms, if you use more than one.
Tagging transactions
Once a dimension is active, it appears as a field on relevant transactions — tag as you enter invoices, bills, expenses and journals.
Activating and deactivating
Deactivating a dimension hides it from new transactions without deleting historical tagging — past reports built on it remain accurate.
Reporting by tag
Once transactions are tagged, run a tag-wise Profit & Loss to see performance broken down by the dimension — e.g. P&L per branch — without maintaining a separate set of books per branch.
Tips
- Keep dimensions few and meaningful — a dimension every transaction must be tagged with, but nobody reports on, is just extra data entry.
- Scope a dimension to only the modules it applies to (e.g. Branch only on Expenses and Invoices) so it doesn't clutter forms where it's irrelevant.
