Kitchen & KOT
DinePro routes each order to the kitchen station that actually prepares it, and tracks every item through the kitchen independently.
Requires the DinePro add-on.
Multi-kitchen routing
If your restaurant has more than one preparation area — a main kitchen and a separate bar or dessert station, for example — configure each as a kitchen under Settings → DinePro → Kitchens, then map menu items to the kitchen that prepares them. An order with items from different kitchens automatically splits its ticket across the right stations.
The kitchen order ticket (KOT) queue
Once an order is sent, each item appears on its kitchen's queue with its own status:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | Sent to the kitchen, not yet started |
| Preparing | Kitchen has started on it |
| Ready | Prepared and ready to serve |
| Served | Delivered to the table |
Updating an item's status on the queue is what the front-of-house order screen reflects back — staff can see at a glance what's ready to collect without walking to the kitchen.
Syncing and closing tickets
- A kitchen order can be synced if it was updated from more than one screen, keeping the queue consistent.
- Close a kitchen ticket once every item on it is served, or reopen one if an item needs to go back to the kitchen.
Printing
KOTs print directly to a connected thermal printer via QZ Tray, so a new ticket reaches the kitchen printer the moment an order is sent — no manual reprint step.
Tips
- Map items to kitchens carefully when you first set up multi-kitchen — an unmapped item defaults to your main kitchen, which can bury it on a station that isn't expecting it.
- Use the "Ready" status consistently — it's what front-of-house staff rely on to know when to collect from the pass.
