Reports Library

Two Profit & Loss reports are available for a reason: the standard Profit & Loss is built from your documents (invoices, bills), while Ledger-Based Profit & Loss is built from the underlying journal — useful as a cross-check between the two, since they should reconcile. Project Profit & Loss is similarly ledger-based, and reconciles with the Balance Sheet in a way document-total sums cannot; it complements, rather than replaces, Project Finance's committed cost and unbilled WIP figures, which the ledger doesn't see.

Running a report

  1. Go to Reports and choose one from the library.
  2. Set a date range where applicable — a handful of reports (balances, low stock, delivered-not-invoiced) show a current snapshot instead and have no date filter.
  3. Apply any additional filters the report offers.
  4. Drill down from a summary line into the underlying documents.
  5. Export to PDF or Excel.

Tips

  • Cross-check Profit & Loss against Ledger-Based Profit & Loss periodically — a mismatch usually points to a document that bypassed normal posting.
  • Use Deferred COGS Ageing alongside Delivered Not Invoiced to see stock that's left the building but hasn't yet turned into recognised revenue or cost.
